    What's New
    What's New

We are selling our fully stocked 12-Gallon display by our kitchen and bathroom. The tank, stand and all livestock, excluding the Seahorses, is going for $400. This tank has been set up for about six years and has been doing great. It is a perfect setup for Seahorses or even some smaller Gobies, Blennies and even Clownfish. So if you have been hoping to start a new system but want all of it at once, this is a great opportunity!

The new Oceanic BioCube HQI system is in stock. Complete with 150 watt HQI lighting with built-in fans, integrated filtration with a protein skimmer, a built-in refugium chamber and even a glass canopy with feeding rings. We have one opened up and displayed on our floor so you can get an up close look of the upgrades from the original PC version to the new HQI version.

The new EcoXotic Stunner LED Strips are in stock. These 12.5 inch strips are available in 8000K (white), 453nm (blue), 8000K/453 combo and 403nm (ultraviolet). They are even linkable and you can link up to six Stunner Strips off one 24V power supply. Each strip emits a beautiful, shimmering light and are easily retrofit into your existing setup using the included hardware mounting kit. The Panorama Module LED Strips are also available and these are awesome! Each module has 12 LED lights, 8x 8000K white and 4x 453nm blue. Each module comes with its own mounting bracket and power spply. To see these in person, stop in and we will give you a demonstration. Also soon to arrive are the Panorama LED Fixtures!

IceCap’s LunarLite LED Retrofits are in stock. These LunarLites have the same look of a standard T5 tube, yet they are powered by a low voltage transformer, not a fluorescent ballast. They produce little heat yet still have an aluminum heat sink on the back side of the tube to help dissipate what little heat they may generate. If you think your corals look good under actinics, you haven’t seen anything yet! Most LPS corals, Mushrooms, Zoanthids, Ricordea and even some SPS really pop under LED’s. Each tube contains hardware for mounting into an existing canopy, commercial hood or even an existing light fixture. They are very light weight and come in 2ft, 3ft and 4ft tubes and prices are reasonable.

We received a breakdown of fully cured, coralline and coral encrusted live rock. This rock is beautiful and has Blue Mushrooms and even Ricordea growing all over it. The purple coralline is thick and almost completely covering each piece of rock. We also still have some Pohnpei and Indo/Jakarta live rock available. Along with the live rock we have some beautiful Trumpet corals available along with smaller Blue Mushroom Rocks, Green Frogspawn and Torch corals, Green Bubbles, Red and Green Cynarinas, Orange Ricordea, Green Clove Polyps, Blue Clove Polyps, Wellsophyllias, lots of beautiful Chalice Frags, Aussie Acan Frags, and hundreds more!

    Did You Know?
    DYK

Did you know that trace elements are naturally occurring elements found in varying quantities in seawater? They are the elements that fish, corals and invertebrates use to form their skeleton, tissue, and to help maintain coloration and health. Some of the trace elements are rapidly utilized by the corals and need to be replenished on a regular basis. Any trace element that is naturally occurring in the ocean should be present in a captive saltwater tank. Depending on the quantity and type of animals in the aquarium, different trace elements become more or less important. The Marine Scene suggests that a reef tank be dosed with Calcium, Magnesium, Strontium and Molybdenum, and Iodine. Tanks with lots of microalgae’s should be dosed with Iron, Bromide, and Iodide. Fish only tanks should be dosed with all elements, but perhaps to a lesser degree. There are numerous test kits for the hobbyist to use which help to identify the particular needs of a given tank. The Marine Scene carries all the trace elements that saltwater aquariums need as well as the test kits to make sure they are at their proper levels. Check out our new brand of water care products, called Brightwell Aquatics, for the trace elements, buffers and vitamins that your aquarium needs. If you have any questions about your tanks personal needs, please feel free to stop by the store and speak with a sales associate. Is your aquarium being dosed properly?
