The Marine Scene carries a variety of Live Rock
types with different looks and styles:
Fiji Premium Live Rock
Fiji Live Rock is known for its dark purple coralline algae. The rock
itself is a chunky shape with plenty of caves. Many people choose to
use Fiji when setting up a new aquarium because it is inexpensive.
Tonga Ridge Live Rock
Tonga Ridge is our most popular Live Rock. The colors found
on Tonga can range from orange to pink to green and of course that beautiful
purple. The shape of this rock is usually branchy although there are
a variety of shapes available. We also receive Tonga Shelf Live Rock
and Tonga Branch Live Rock. The shelf rock is completely flat tabletop
slabs. The branch rock is solid pieces of old coral branches. Tonga
rock is typically covered with an abundance of life.
Florida Aquacultured Live Rock
If you are environmentally concerned about the ocean’s reefs,
this is the rock for you. This rock is “man made”. Dry rock
is converted to live rock when it is left at the bottom of the ocean
for over five years. Aquacultured Live Rock can vary greatly in shape
and critter coverage.
Button Colony Live Rock
Button Colony Live Rock is covered with brightly colored polyps. Dots
of orange, green, and yellow adorn Fiji Live Rock to create a beautiful
display of life. This rock is a great way to fill in colorless spots
of your reef.
Marshall Island Live Rock
Marshall Live Rock is characterized by a light purple coralline, Caulerpa
fragments, and a branchy, knobby shape. This rock is truly beautiful,
and one of our premium rocks.
Bali Live Rock
Bali Live Rock has a unique shape. The rocks are typically very light
due to a birds-nest shape. Various colors and critters are found in
Bali Live Rock. Bali rock is unusual in the aquarium trade and a rare
find.
Indonesian Live Rock
Indonesian Live Rock is usually covered with maroon and green
coralline algae. Shape seems to vary from chunky to branchy. This rock
is tough to come by so grab it when you can!
Cured Coralline Live Rock
Occasionally, The Marine Scene is called on the break down
an established reef tank and resell the contents. The Live Rock from
these systems is often covered with a thick coralline cover and has
many encrusting corals attached. Top of the line for any Live Rock,
this is one you have to see to believe.
Florida Live Sand
Collected Live Sand from the Gulf of Mexico, this is a great
seed substrate for larger systems, or use it as a quick jump-start biological
filtration for smaller tanks.
